After the success of our 1st hop in 2019, for the 2nd hop we decided to expand it further to FB and blog as well. We also created a dedicated Instagram account. Our 2nd hop was on Instagram and blog plus we had a Linky party! With the experiences from the 1st hop, we ironed out the creases for this hop pretty well right from the start, and it was planned more efficiently.
However, extending our presence on blog and FB brought some unexpected challenges. We had to maintain not one but three separate accounts! We felt deeply humbled that many International as well as local craft supply brands came forward to sponsor us not only by offering prizes but also by participating in our blog hop. We continued to receive more visibility.
Just when we thought everything was in order, Instagram and FB had something else in store for us: “Blocking the links”! Our major platform to spread the news about the hop was FB, which became a hurdle at this stage. After continuous reporting and wait of few days, the issue was resolved, and a new lesson was learnt to test out things beforehand.
Despite flawless planning, there were lots of confusions and misunderstandings (10 girls working together isn't easy we tell you🤣🙈). Until the last week of February, we weren't even sure how we were going to pull this off. We did overcome it with each other’s support.
To our surprise, our 2nd hop was a great success. Our Instagram account @women.beyoutifully.you has over 200 supporters, and our FB group is going strong with 341 members. We had 26 sponsors globally. The Linky party was received with enthusiasm and we had more than 60 beautiful encouragement themed projects linked!
Just as our hop was about to end, we had a linky issue, but that was overcome smoothly.
Another hurdle came wrapped as “COVID-19"; the hop got extended by a few more days. Following the winners' announcement, several prizes could not be shipped whereas a few got delayed owing to the worldwide lockdown. Despite these obstacles, we are thankful to our winners for their patience, and to most of the sponsors who kept their word by sending the prizes as soon as the lockdown eased. We are very grateful for that, and also for the fact that despite being badly hit by the pandemic, people were emphatic towards us and the situation.
Planning and execution of this hop has taught all of us to be more accepting and be ready to face uncertainties in any form and to go with the flow. As a team, we were put to a daunting test and we all came out of it with great personal learning experiences.
Thank you for stopping by.

Love and peace from us to all.

Very interesting with lots of challenges! I still prefer blogging to IG and FB but I am probably in the minority.
