Team Member - Mugdha

 Hello dear friends and bloggers,

This is Jasleen posting today. After yesterday’s introduction for me beautifully penned by Ishani, I’m still on cloud nine 😊 And while I bask in the glory, please allow me to introduce our next team member.

Sweet and fun and one heck of a designer! Yes, that’s our Team Member Mugdha Gujarathi for you.

Mugdha’s fresh, elegant style often takes our breath away, and she can rock the fun and cute just as well!

A qualified MBA-degree holder and a passionate teacher by profession, Mugdha hails from the “Wine Capital of India,” Nashik in the state of Maharashtra. She is a mommy to a charming and energetic 4-year-old boy, who knows how to keep his mommy on her toes. Mugdha began her paper crafting journey with quilling and flower-making way back in 2012. Eventually, she got introduced to this wonderful world of stamping where she was warmly embraced by the kind souls of this community, given the talent she has. Finally, she started her own blog called as “Craftomania” in 2017 where she actively blogs about all her paper crafts. Today, she is on the Design Team of three Internationally-acclaimed craft-manufacturing companies.

I met Mugdha during our 1st Women’s Day Blog hop, which was in 2019 and I’m a BIG fan ever since. She has an amazing sense of colour, design and space and I have lost count of the number of times I may have saved her card images for my dose of inspiration. Most of all, I was drawn to her humility. She’s not just an awesome crafter, but a down-to-earth person as well.

Mugdha sure knows how to get the flowers come to life, not just on her cards, but also in her garden. Gardening is another of her interests, along with reading books and watching movies.

My words do no justice to her impeccable card-making talent; you ought to check out her Instagram feed to know what I mean.

Team Member - Jasleen

Hello dear friends,

Ishani here! After blushing by yesterday's sweet introduction by Deepti didi (didi is a suffix we Indians use for someone we consider our elder sister 😊, now you know why she said such lovely things for me!) I will continue the introduction series of our lovely team.

I am so glad to be introducing to you

This lady with the sweetest of smiles, sparkle in her eyes and a friendly demeanor, was the first person I ever approached in this crafting community! There is something so charming about her - just from the photograph, you know - if you messaged her, you will be greeted by an Angel! Don't you agree?

Jasleen is a passionate crafter, a Dentist by profession and now a days, a medical editor. She lives with her husband and two darling daughters in 'Oxford of the East' - Pune, India. She is a family oriented person, a devoted mother, an avid reader and a nature lover!

Her journey as a card maker started in 2013 with quilling and stamping and she has been influencing many of us with her creativity, since then. It was in 2016 when I saw her beautiful work and became a big fan of her talent. I was mesmerized by her work and loved her - Clean and Simple style, which was done so delicately. But little did I know that this kind lady will hold my finger to show me the right direction! I will always be so grateful to have come across so much love and kindness.

Lately, she has been making us go gaga with her beautiful and effortless water coloring. She is so talented, words will never be enough to express how much I love her and her work. That's why I would love you to check her work, yourself - and admire it!

Chapter three - our progress so far

This past year had been really hard on all of us in one form or the other. Many small and big businesses have been badly hit due to the pandemic. In this situation, we were doubtful about the hop, whether we would get a response from sponsors. Also, most of our team members are busy, some with their little ones doing online schooling. After a much needed discussion, we decided to go on with the hop. As the times have been tough for one and all, we realized that the need for hop is even greater now. We all need some form of encouragement during difficult times, we need someone to assure us that we are not the only one in this, there are many more people and we will sail through this storm together. There is no better way to say it than a parade of encouragement cards all over the social media.

We are now gearing up for our Third hop, with the experiences from our past two hops, we have started this one much ahead of time.

We were prepared that many sponsors may not be interested and we understood the situation but we were proved so wrong! We got a tremendous response from our sponsors. Including the ones who have stood behind us right from our 1st Hop to this upcoming one.

The number of prizes and sponsors are overwhelming. The prizes offered are as such that, at times we thought of taking a break from team and joining as hopper. Let me stop here before I spill the beans!  Mark your calendars for 8th March, GMT 2pm to get ready to HOP with us on our blog and Instagram and a linky party for you all to link you projects on our blog.

Love and peace from us to all.

Chapter two of our Journey

After the success of our 1st hop in 2019, for the 2nd hop we decided to expand it further to FB and blog as well. We also created a dedicated Instagram account. Our 2nd hop was on Instagram and blog plus we had a Linky party! With the experiences from the 1st hop, we ironed out the creases for this hop pretty well right from the start, and it was planned more efficiently.

However, extending our presence on blog and FB brought some unexpected challenges. We had to maintain not one but three separate accounts!  We felt deeply humbled that many International as well as local craft supply brands came forward to sponsor us not only by offering prizes but also by participating in our blog hop. We continued to receive more visibility.

Just when we thought everything was in order, Instagram and FB had something else in store for us: “Blocking the links”! Our major platform to spread the news about the hop was FB, which became a hurdle at this stage. After continuous reporting and wait of few days, the issue was resolved, and a new lesson was learnt to test out things beforehand.

Despite flawless planning, there were lots of confusions and misunderstandings (10 girls working together isn't easy we tell you🤣🙈). Until the last week of February, we weren't even sure how we were going to pull this off. We did overcome it with each other’s support.

To our surprise, our 2nd hop was a great success. Our Instagram account @women.beyoutifully.you has over 200 supporters, and our FB group is going strong with 341 members. We had 26 sponsors globally. The Linky party was received with enthusiasm and we had more than 60 beautiful encouragement themed projects linked!

Just as our hop was about to end, we had a linky issue, but that was overcome smoothly.
Another hurdle came wrapped as “COVID-19"; the hop got extended by a few more days. Following the winners' announcement, several prizes could not be shipped whereas a few got delayed owing to the worldwide lockdown. Despite these obstacles, we are thankful to our winners for their patience, and to most of the sponsors who kept their word by sending the prizes as soon as the lockdown eased. We are very grateful for that, and also for the fact that despite being badly hit by the pandemic, people were emphatic towards us and the situation.

Planning and execution of this hop has taught all of us to be more accepting and be ready to face uncertainties in any form and to go with the flow. As a team, we were put to a daunting test and we all came out of it with great personal learning experiences.

Thank you for stopping by.

Love and peace from us to all.

Our Journey - year one

Hello friends, by now you all must have sensed we are super busy behind the scenes preparing for the 3rd International Women’s Day hop. YES, our third HOP!! Before we get into details of this year’s hop, let's have a look at how all this started back in 2019.

Usually, a group comes together and then hops are planned but it was the other way around for us. This hop was an idea which sparked in January 2019 and our 1st hop was March 2019.  One thing lead to another, and soon we were a team of 10 girls. Some of us knew each other well,  some were acquainted through our blogging. Within no time we became best buddies! Now imagine 10 girls coming together who are very different from each other in every aspect of life, whether it was age, countries, identities, languages they speak and with unique crafting styles. But that didn’t stop us from having fun while pulling each other's leg at every given chance.(That’s the glue which keeps us together !) It's more like, the women who laugh together, stay together!

None of us had prior experience of organizing a hop . Being this our first, we taught ourselves every thing from scratch, whether it was approaching the sponsors, the format,  the time to post, sharing the responsibilities, choosing the winners and much more than that. Each day a new problem would surface and we had limited time at hand to resolve. But our excitement to be a part of something new led us through all difficulties.  It was not  a smooth ride, we had our fair share of road blocks which we had overcome together.

Back in 2019 we had mostly Indian sponsors 13 of them. They were kind enough to have faith in us .The response was tremendous, nearly 250 comments on each account, it sure  was overwhelming, we never expected this much love. People appreciated the hop idea, came forward to support and encourage us. That served as a major boost to continue this HOP. Every prize delivered brought sheer joy to us! Some of you must have witnessed our first hop! Thank you for cheering us and for your continued love and support.

Love and peace from us to all.
